Who We are
Japan Minami Region is a philanthropic organization of women in business, management and profession. There are five Regions in Japan and Japan Minami Region consists of approximately 2,400 members in 96 clubs across Kyushu and Okinawa, the southern part of Japan. Japan 5 Regions are a part of Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA), one of four federations making up Soroptimist International (SI), the largest philanthropic organization for helping women and girls in need around the world.
What We do
in line with SI and SIA to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
History
1921 | The first Soroptimist club was found in Oakland, California, U.S.A. |
1960 | The first Soroptimist club in Japan was chartered in Tokyo. |
1986 | Japan Region was divided into five Japan Minami Region was founded with 34 clubs. |
